Before peak trading begins, equipment reliability should be a top priority. Breakdowns during busy service periods don’t just cost money — they damage reputation and customer trust.
Here’s a pre-season checklist for street food operators.
Cooking Equipment
Inspect gas connections, burners and seals. Clean thoroughly and test output levels. If using LPG, ensure certifications are up to date and safety checks are completed.
Refrigeration
Check temperature consistency and door seals. Clean condenser coils and confirm thermometers are accurate. Poor refrigeration performance becomes more obvious in warmer months.
Power & Generators
Test generators under load before events. Inspect cables and backup systems. Increasingly, traders are also exploring battery alternatives to reduce noise and fuel costs.
Water & Hygiene Systems
Flush water tanks, inspect pumps and check waste systems for leaks. Hygiene compliance remains essential, especially at large-scale events.
Fire Safety & Compliance
Review fire extinguishers, blankets and emergency signage. Replace expired safety equipment immediately.
Peak season preparation reduces stress, protects income and ensures smoother trading when demand is highest.
