ALFI, the independent Italian restaurant in Spitalfields, is putting pasta centre stage this October with a series of five hands-on workshops taking guests on a culinary tour around Italy.
The restaurant, best known for its Neapolitan pizza, has launched its Pasta Passport as part of its October programme, with each two-hour workshop focusing on pasta shapes and traditions from a different Italian region.
The series begins in Emilia-Romagna on 3 October, before travelling to Tuscany, Sicily, the Amalfi Coast and finally Capri on 31 October.
Across the five workshops, guests will learn to make nine different pasta shapes from scratch, with sessions designed for both beginners and more experienced home cooks.

Each workshop costs £48 per person and includes a welcome glass of Prosecco, ingredients, equipment and guidance from the ALFI team. Participants will also be able to take their handmade pasta home.
For those wanting to take part in the full series, the Pasta Passport costs £200, giving access to all five workshops.
The 17 October session coincides with National Pasta Day, with the Sicily workshop focusing on busiate and casarecce.
The pasta workshops form part of ALFI’s wider programme of hands-on experiences, which includes activities such as Paint & Sip, cocktail making, scented candle making and Sip & Bouquet.
Based in Spitalfields Market, ALFI combines Italian food and hospitality with a programme of experiences designed to encourage customers to spend time learning, creating and sharing food together.
